Content Plumbing and Heating: a new website for a Leeds Gas Safe engineer
How MTU Projects took a Leeds Gas Safe engineer from an old, out-of-date website and an unverified Google listing to a seven-page site built to be found, and a plan to keep it working. Live since 30 September 2026.
Pages, built from scratch in plain HTML and CSS.

From start to finish
How I took him from an old, out-of-date website and an unverified listing to a site built to be found, and a plan to keep it working.
-
The starting point
An old website, no reviews
His website was old and out of date. His Google Business Profile wasn't verified, wasn't in his name and had no reviews, even though he'd been trading for years. Customers searching for him found very little.
-
Step 1
A one-page site first
The first job was to replace the old site quickly, so I built a one-page website: who he is, what he does, the area he covers and how to get in touch.
-
Step 2
The pivot to service pages
With no reviews to lean on, one page wasn't going to compete in local search. So I changed the plan and built four dedicated service pages, one for each job people actually search for: landlord gas safety certificates, boiler installation, boiler repair and servicing, and emergency plumbing. Each is 750 to 1,500 words, with prices, FAQs and a short-answer summary that search engines and AI tools can quote.
-
Step 3
Getting the facts right
I interviewed Daniel and checked every claim against what he actually does. Out-of-hours call-outs he doesn't cover, finance he doesn't offer and statistics nobody could back up were all taken out, and replaced with things a customer can check, like his Gas Safe number and real hours.
-
Step 4
Built and set up to be found
Hand-coded in plain HTML and CSS, 1.8 MB for the whole site, with structured data for the business, services and FAQs, a summary file for AI search, and the site verified with Google Search Console and Bing Webmaster Tools.
-
Step 5
Google Business Profile
I helped him get his Google Business Profile verified and put in his own name, so the listing that shows on Google Maps belongs to him and links to the new site.
-
Step 6
A content plan to keep it going
A website on its own isn't enough without reviews and regular activity. He already posts his work on Instagram, with Facebook and TikTok alongside. Those draw attention, but search is what brings in customers, so the plan puts Google first: treat his Google Business Profile the way he treats Instagram and post there every week. Take before-and-after photos on every job, ask every customer for a review, and reuse the best work across his social channels.

Handover
His, not mine
A documented handover, with a launch checklist and a Google Business Profile guide.
On a phone
Every page was designed for phones first, where most local customers search.
